” I’ve been bartending since I was 18. I started when I was a senior in high school, working at a night club on the weekends with my sister. I do have a love/hate relationship with bartending. Being in the industry you form a family bond with those you work with. However, I don’t think most people really understand the amount of bullshit we deal with. Closing at 4am 4-6 days a week fucks your sleep schedule and makes you really unproductive the next day. I’ll never forget this one night I had a drink thrown at me.. well it was meant for my coworker and I happened to get caught in the crossfire. We both just.. reacted. My coworker threw our garnish tray at the guy and I grabbed the napkin holder and flung it! Quickly a bouncer got this drunk asshole out. Don’t fuck with the bartenders! Regardless of the bullshit I do really love what I do.”
