“I don’t think bartenders get enough recognition for what they have to endure and how hard they have to work, not just physically but mentally. We are humans too, we have emotions and lives we go through, and yet we spend it most the time living and listening to others, like underpaid therapists. Ive heard stories from break ups, family issues, to being raped. However when it comes to my life and issues, once I clock in, everything’s out the door, nobody cares, and it’s time to play my role and put on that smile. It’s tough, you can’t show your emotions, you can’t cry or be angry, this job doesn’t allow you too do so.. it’ll be the difference between having a sucessful day or literally making no dollars. I think that’s why we are all such great actors. It’s all for theatrics.. clock in and it’s show time.”
